The tax-reform panel provides useful budget-cutting hints, but Obama never allowed it to tackle the really big issues.

Here is an intersting one:

"According to the tax revenue data from the Department of Revenue in Pierre, revenue collected in 2010 is keeping pace with that of 2009. There have been some peaks and valleys in the reported tax revenue, but one seems to cancel out the other."

I heard about this and just found this story.
