Rush University Medical Center is paying more than $1.5 million to settle allegations that it filed false claims to Medicare.
I read this in the Garden Grove paper and wanted to share it with you.
"Black and Hispanic Medicare beneficiaries with heart failure appear less likely to receive hospice care than white patients with the same condition, according to a report in the March 8 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals."

"A fight in the emergency room waiting room could cost Wilson Medical Center its Medicare certification."
The Administrator of Hillcrest West says the nursing home will keep its doors open no matter what the outcome of an appeal. All Medicare and Medicaid patients have been tranferred from the west Knoxville facility.
