CARMEL - A former Southeast lawyer who served as a Patterson library trustee and on the Putnam Arts Council is being held in the Putnam County jail awaiting sentencing on the theft of $339,000 from a real estate closing.

This is the latest news as of July 18th.

"Celebrity lawyer Robert Shapiro said Friday he has agreed to help U.S. actress Lindsay Lohan fight her legal battles. Lohan, 24, was sentenced this month to 90 days in jail for violating her probation following a 2007 driving under the influence conviction."
