This is the latest news as of August 27th.
"According to a recently-released report by the United States Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), the criminal investigation division (CI Division) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has shown improvements in meeting most statistical trends for its enforcement activities, including work related to legal source tax crimes."

I saw this posted at WWW.TAX-NEWS.COM.
"The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has said that it may drop a lawsuit against Swiss bank UBS after the Swiss government announced on August 26 that its examination of approximately 4,450 UBS clients accused of evading US taxes."

My research with Rebecca lead me to this.
"Switzerland said it expects to deliver account data on almost 4,450 UBS AG clients suspected by the U.S. of tax evasion, prompting the Internal Revenue Service to say it will drop a lawsuit against the bank within months."
