The roughly 4,000 Minnesota nonprofits at risk of losing tax-exempt status this year for failing to file tax returns were offered a window of relief by the IRS on Monday.
WWW.PJSTAR.COM writes: "About 15,000 small not-for-profit organizations are at risk of losing their tax exempt status unless they file required forms by Oct. 15, the IRS said Monday."
Organizations that have not filed for the past three years will have their names posted on the IRS website to alert them that they are at risk of losing their exemption.
I saw this posted Tuesday on JUNEAUEMPIRE.COM.
