"The Internal Revenue Service has announced that small non-profit organizations at risk of losing their tax-exempt status because they failed to file required returns for 2007, 2008 and 2009, can preserve their status by filing returns by Friday, Oct. 15, under a one-time relief program."

A new report released by the United States Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) says that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has not always followed statutory requirements regarding the timely notification of taxpayers when liens are filed against them.
