A 20-year-old Lakeland woman was sentenced Thursday to serve probation in the fatal hit-and-run of a bicyclist on Christmas Eve 2008.

A 20-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was run over by a car he was trying to push up the steep street known as the Manayunk Wall early Thursday, police said.

"SOUTHBURY-- Police charged a Southbury man with drunken driving after a one-car accident on Transylvania Road early Wednesday. Alex Gerner, 20, of Ichabod Road, was driving north when he ran off the road and hit a utility pole shortly after midnight, police said."
