NEW MILFORD -- Police said a 17-year-old swimmer was taken to New Milford Hospital after a near-drowning at Candlewood Lake on Sunday morning. Initial reports of the call, which came in about 9 a.m. were that the person in the water as a 9-year-old child, police said.
